calendar Error Lord Ganesha is also known as Gajanana, Ganapathi, Vinayaka, Vigneshwara, Lambodara, Ekadhantha, Balachandra, Pillaiyar etc. Lord Ganesha has four arms with having axe in one hand and a lotus flower in another hand. In the remaining two hands he holds modak in one and bless devotees with another hand. The Vahana of Lord Ganesha is mouse.

All Hindu Temple have the Idol of Ganesha in the entrance as He has been blessed to be worshiped first amongst all Deities.

Lord Ganesha is the most popular deity in India who is worshiped by almost all castes in all parts of India. He is the first and foremost God who is worshiped in the beginning of all auspicious, religious ceremonies and important undertakings. Even during music and dance concerts the performance will be started with the prayer on Lord Ganesha. Blessings of Lord Ganesh are said to be the most powerful. There are a lot of mantras and stotras on Ganesh to please Him and worship.

Ganesh Chaturthi and Sankatahara Chaturthi are the most important holy days for Lord Ganesha.

The best place to learn about Hinduism, in context of Religious Education, is of course, at the source, the Mandir where one is able to absorb the sounds, the sights and the sacred environment of the culture. In addition to this, one is able to observe the faith in practice.

Note: the Mandir does the school visits only between 9.30am to 10.30am week days. Guided sessions are run by our priest, Mr. Kamleshbhai Vyas. Advance booking is recommended.


Why not come in for a guided tour to look around the Temple and learn about many Hindu Gods/Deities? The Panditji (our priest) will be glad to show you around during the opening hours. Students are very welcome. The temple is open for school visits on weekdays between by prior appointment.
